FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: gear wheel includes a body, a gear rim with teeth having a top, a base, a working side surface and a non-working side surface, which are adjacent to the body by means of transient fillets. Profile of the working side surface of each tooth is identical to the design one for that tooth, and profile of the non-working side surface is made in the form of a plane attaching the base to the top so that the transient fillet is maintained. The above plane intersects the tooth top along its symmetry axis.
EFFECT: reduction of material consumption of the wheel at maintaining its bending strength and stiffness.
