GEAR WHEEL Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC F16H55/17 

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: gear wheel consists of body (1) and gear rim with teeth (2) having tops (3), base (4) and two side surfaces, among which working one (5) has a profile identical to the design one for that wheel, and non-working one (6) represents a plane attaching the top to its base so that transient fillet (8) is maintained. Non-working side surfaces (6) of teeth are equipped with straps (9) supplementing the profile of those surfaces till the profile of working side surfaces. Straps (9) are made from noncritical material and rigidly attached to surfaces by means of splines, the projections of which are located on straps and cavities are located on teeth. Straps have at least two projections each, one of which is located near the tooth top and the other one is located in the area of its base.

EFFECT: optimising the design of the gear wheel and reducing costs for its manufacture.
