FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: gear wheel consists of a body with a hub and a gear rim with teeth. The body is made as a pair of disks fixed to the hub ends. The gear rim is made of separate teeth that are not connected to each other and are fixed between the disks. The teeth in their height are truncated in their bases, and working sections of their side surfaces are preserved. The disks in their outer perimeter are made with the profile identical to the profile of the gear rim at the teeth with non-truncated base. The sum width of one tooth and of the thicknesses of a disk pair is equal to the width of a design tooth for such a wheel.

EFFECT: optimised design of a gear wheel, lower costs of its manufacturing.
