SUBSTANCE: flowing medium shutoff valve (1) with valve body (5) forming flow passage (2), valve chamber (3) and constriction (4) of the housing, and shutoff element (6) having the possibility of shutting off flow passage (2); at that, shutoff element (6) is connected to spindle (9) of gate valve, and spindle support (10) is provided. Spindle support (10) includes brake device (11) restricting pressure (12) of shutoff element (6) on push surface (39) of flow passage (2). Brake device (11) includes brake disc (13) containing spindle (9) of the gate valve, as well as spindle base (16) connected with geometrical closing to brake disc (13) and constriction (4) of the body. Brake disc (13) has working surface (15) bordering on shoulder (17) of spindle (9) of the gate valve.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability.
