SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipe fittings intended for use at pipelines, in particular to shut-off valves that serve to block the flow of the medium. In the proposed gate valve, the gate is made composite and consists of a central wedge element and side gates, each of which has through holes. The central wedge element has an end surface tapering downwards, and the side gates are made in such a way that one of their side surfaces in contact with the counter seat is vertical, and the opposite side surface in contact with the central wedge element is beveled upwards in such a way that it forms a congruent surface with the side of the central wedge element. The side gates are connected to the central wedge element with the possibility of their angular movement by means of a swivel joint, which is made in such a way that a fixed hinge is installed in the upper part of each of the end surfaces of the central wedge element, with the links of which the side gates are connected by means of projections on their end surfaces.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving manufacturability and minimizing damage to the gate during the operation of the shut-off and control valve.
