FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to purify industrial waste water and drinking water. The method of purifying industrial waste water and drinking water on glauconite from iron (II) cations involves sorption of iron (II) cations with an adsorbent in form of a 95% concentrate of glauconite from the Bondarsky deposit, Tambov region. Iron (II) cations are extracted from aqueous solutions with height of the absorbing layer of 10 cm and linear flow rate of up to 5 m/h.

EFFECT: invention enables to purify industrial waste water and drinking water from iron (II) cations to 99,9% purity using an ecologically clean, easily producible and readily available natural adsorbent.
