FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of leguminous crops processing and may be used during processing of soya seeds, broad beans, peas, lupine, vetch during food products manufacture as well as fodder components and fodder additives for farm animals and birds. In the course of the method implementation one performs thermal treatment of seeds with staged heating with subsequent moistening and cooling of thermally inactivated seeds, primary seeds milling and secondary seeds milling. The last heating stage temperature is equal to 101 - 170°C. After cooling the product temperature is below 60°C. After the moistening stage the moisture content in the product is equal to 11 - 13.5 wt %. The device for leguminous crops seeds inactivation contains a body wherein at least one heating section is installed. The raw material charging unit is installed at the body inlet; the product discharge unit is installed at the body outlet. The heater is designed in the form of multiple tubes inner volumes whereof are connected to the heat carrier delivery system as well as to the heat carrier discharge system. The distance between neighbouring tubes is commensurable with treated seeds size; the tubes are located in parallel rows with a bias from row to row. Additionally, the device contains means for water or steam delivery into the heater volume.
EFFECT: one proposes a new method for thermal inactivation of leguminous crops seeds.
