FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates fibre optics and a method of producing especially pure tellurite-molybdate glass for making fibre-optic guides and planar optical waveguides used in optics and near- and middle infrared optoelectronic devices. The method involves obtaining a mixture by separation from an aqueous solution containing elements which are glass components. The obtained mixture is heated and held in an oxidative atmosphere at 300-500°C for 40-70 hours, after which the mixture is melted at 600-700°C, followed by cooling the obtained melt. The invention enables to obtain glass with systems TeO2-MoO3, TeO2-MoO3-Bi2O3, TeO2-MoO3-Bi2O3-LaF3.
EFFECT: obtaining especially pure tellurite-molbdate glass with high optical transparency in the 520-800 nm range by carrying synthesis at sufficiently low temperature.
