FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre optics and development of a method of producing high-purity tellurite glass. Oxidation of volatile compounds of starting components with oxygen in gas phase is initiated. The starting volatile compounds used are chlorides of starting components. The oxidation reaction is initiated by low-temperature plasma. Oxidation and deposition of reaction products is carried out inside a support tube heated to 200-500°C. The tube is made from silicate or tellurite glass. The deposited product is melted inside the tube.
EFFECT: obtaining high-purity tellurite glass and conducting the process in safe conditions.
