FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises smelting zinc products in smelting furnace in semicontinuous process, transfer of, at least, a portion of melted zinc products into evaporator furnace, practically continuous evaporation of melted zinc in evaporator furnace into zinc vapors, transfer of said vapors into condenser to condense zinc vapors to zinc powder. Melted zinc from smelting furnace is added under the surface of pre-melted zinc in crucible via immersion tube. Evaporation of melted zinc in evaporator furnace comprises maintaining melted zinc pool in crucible in evaporator furnace at preset level. Zinc vapor condensation comprises circulation of zinc vapors in condenser and their cooling by air. Note here that zinc powder particle size is controlled by adjusting zinc vapor circulation rate. Invention covers also the device for production of zinc powder.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, reduced power consumption.
