FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed is an electrolysis cell containing a sealing vessel, the first electrode, the second electrode, an electric current source electrically communicating with the first and the second electrodes, an electrolyte fluidally communicating with the first and the second electrodes and gas generated during electrolysis on or near the first electrode; the cell is equipped with a separator having a slanted surface and includes and electrode to enable direction of the electrolyte and gas flow due to the difference between the density of the electrolyte and gas for the gas to move away from the second electrode. Intensified circulation of the electrolyte with the help of a slanted separator as well as increased efficiency of weight transfer in the course of electrolysis represent the proposed invention technical effect.
EFFECT: cell works without a proton exchange membrane and enables quick removal of hydrogen and oxygen bubbles generated on the corresponding electrodes of the electrochemical cell.
