WATER ELECTROLYSIS WITH CROSS FLOW Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C25B1/04 C25B15/08 C25B9/19

Abstract RU 2785846 C1

FIELD: water alkaline electrolysis.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for alkaline electrolysis of water with an electrolyte in an electrolytic cell comprising at least an electrolytic cell, a cathode gas separator, an anode gas separator, a first liquid reservoir dedicated to the electrolyte, and a second liquid reservoir dedicated to the electrolyte, which is separate from the first liquid reservoir, in which the electrolytic cell contains an anode half-cell having an anode, a cathode half-cell having a cathode, and a separator located between the anode half-cell and the cathode half-cell, in which a current is applied to the electrolyzer filled with electrolyte to carry out electrolysis, in which the electrolyte from the first liquid tank is fed into the anode half-cell, and the anolyte flowing from the anode half-cell is fed into the anode gas separator, in which the gas is separated from the anolyte, and in which the electrolyte from the second liquid tank is fed into the cathode half-cell, and the catholyte flowing out and from the cathode half-cell is fed into the cathode gas separator, in which the gas is separated from the catholyte. The method is characterized in that the anolyte separated from the gas from the anode gas separator is returned to the second liquid tank, and the catholyte separated from the gas from the cathode gas separator is returned to the first liquid tank. The invention also relates to a device.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure greater efficiency of the process.
