FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of auto-sealing wherein annular cavity is formed between parts being sealed to accommodate seal ring and pressure ring for them to be automatically drawn in by medium pressure in said cavity. Said seal and pressure rings are used for making replaceable assembly unit, an auto-seal. Seal ring is encased by, at least, one annular shell of shaped cross-section made from material of higher density compared to that of seal ring. Said annular shell has end and conical wall and/or end, outer and inner cylindrical walls.
EFFECT: higher reliability.
