FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: for measurement of insulation resistance an electric signal is supplied into the rail line via capacitors placed in parallel at the feeding and the receiving ends. The capacitors capacity values is selected from the condition of the measurement circuit resonance tuning at the given signal frequency. At the other end of the rail line one preliminarily measures voltage in two limit conditions of the rail line insulation resistance. Through solving the system of algebraic equations Rfrom.min=R0+KU1, Kfrom.max=R0+KU2 one determines the R0, K coefficients. One measures the current voltage value Uf, electrically limiting the rail line with bypasses the superimposal coordinates whereof limit the maximum Q-factor of the measurement path resonance. From the formula Rfrom.f=R0+KUf one determines the actual value of the rail line e insulation resistance.
EFFECT: extension of the field of the method application, in particular - for seamless rail circuits; enhancement of rail line insulation resistance measurement accuracy.
