FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation equipment and telemechanic equipment for the control of rail circuits. In the method, an AC signal is applied at one end to the rail line; at the other end, the current voltage value is compared with the threshold values of the engagement and release voltages, to determine which, with complex input impedances of the ends of the rail circuit with the capacitive component, the lower and upper boundaries of the threshold values of the engagement and release voltages are found. Moreover, a normative shunt is applied to the middle of the adjacent continuous rail circuit, the first in the course of the train's movement, and the voltage value Ush1 is fixed on the controlled rail circuit. In the immediate vicinity of the first shunt, a second normative shunt is applied, the voltage value Ush2 is fixed, measurement of Ush1 and Ush2 is repeated, successively changing the coordinate of shunt application, in the direction of the monitored rail circuit, voltage value Ush12 is found, at which the condition Ush1 = Ush2 is fulfilled, threshold engagement voltage Ue is chosen from the condition: Ue=Ush12, if Ulow<Ush12<Uupp; Ue=Ulow, if Ush12≤Ulow; Ue=Uupp, if Ush12≥Uupp, where Ulow – lower limit of the threshold engagement voltage, Uupp – upper limit of the threshold engagement voltage.

EFFECT: improvement of the reliability of control of rail circuit state.
