FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method for accurate detection of an object from video, having natural phenomena and artificial perturbations, in which, based on calculating difference with a background, conversion to a binary form is performed using a threshold image which is obtained by multiplying change in each pixel value of the input image with a coefficient. The change is time-averaged based on the updating coefficient for each pixel, the updating coefficient being switched depending on whether the corresponding pixel belongs to the object. Further, an initial detection zone is formed from the binary image or a spatial filtration process is carried out for said initial detection zone.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities by reducing cases of false triggering and improving accuracy of detecting boundaries of a moving object.
