FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making inner rectangular or curvilinear channels, including those of larger length. Toll for friction welding with mixing is placed at part surface and revolved. Tool tip is downed into part material in zone of planned inner channel and displaced along channel line. Pressure is created in treatment zone to allow flowing of plasticised metal unless break in its continuity and making weld seam with inner cavity that makes said channel. Said pressure can equal 0.3-0.7 of the pressure whereat plasticised material flow from processing zone is minimised. Formed channel features shape, primarily, approximating to rectangle. Channel shape is defined by welding tool path.
EFFECT: possibility to produce channel in one-piece part in one tool pass.
