FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: in the method the packs are successively subjected to mechanical deformation by bending at least one wall of each pack (1) in an outward direction. Then the bent wall of the pack is cut from outside and the opener (6) is inserted between the bent wall and the cigarettes contained inside the pack, for opening the pack from inside. The device for implementing the method comprises means for moving the packs (1) in a device, for deforming (3, 3') the successively received packs by bending at least one wall of each pack in the outer direction, and the device for cutting (5, 5') at least one wall of the pack from outside. And the device also comprises at least one opener (6) for opening the packs from inside, which is inserted between the bent wall of the pack and the cigarettes contained in the pack through the outer slot.
EFFECT: simplification of opening without destroying the integrity of cigarettes.
