FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method for automatic control of technical condition of serial accumulator battery components includes processing of data obtained as test results at n+1 output terminals connected to the tested accumulators in n test points, number assignment of serial test points, scaling of currents from each component of the accumulator battery with scaling factor from each test point proportional to the number of test point i, calculation of voltage limit UΣlim, corresponding to the case when all components of the tested accumulator battery are in good running order; moreover scaled currents from each test point are summed up in the summation point and are transferred through communication link to the data processing device where summed current is converted to proportional voltage UΣ and then this voltage is subtracted from voltage limit UΣlim and the number of a component in the accumulator battery with short-circuiting is identified by the value resultant voltage UΣlim-UΣ. Additionally invention claims device for method implementation.

EFFECT: reliability improvement of the accumulator battery operation by element-wise control of its technical condition at different stages of operation.
