FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of iron-based powder with minor amount of carbon. It may be used for making steel powder from machining wastes, that is, iron chips. Powder made by grinding and baking of iron chips is mixed with iron scale powder to be heated 900-1100°C and cured for 4-8 hours.
EFFECT: simplified process, higher efficiency.
