FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: plant for plasma-arc melting comprises an arc melting furnace, including an anode, a cathode communicated with a source of an alkaline metal, a heater and a power supply source. The plant additionally comprises a process block with a vacuumising system, inside of which a heater in the form of a rod is mounted. At the same time the source with the alkaline metal is made in the form of a tight ampoule communicated with the cathode. Besides, the anode, cathode and ampoule are placed in a tight vacuumised ampoule, and the heater contacts with the capsule at the cathode side.
EFFECT: possibility to produce a superconducting alloy with record temperature of alloy transition into superconducting state, higher safety, reduced mass of a capsule returned to the Earth.
