FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiosurgery. Patient is intra-operationally subjected to transesophageal ultrasound examination of heart. In case if no thrombosis of heart cavities is detected, electropulse cardioversion is performed. In case if sinus rhythm after cardioversion is recovered, epicardial electrophysiological examination is performed. If values of time of recovery of sinus bundle function are not higher than 1500 ms, values of corrected time of sinus bundle function recovery is not higher than 900 ms, Wenckebach point not lower than 90, recovery of sinus rhythm of sufficient frequency after surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure reduction of risk of development of hemodynamically essential complications in early postoperative period and release patients from necessity to have ECS and anti-arrhythmic therapy by adequate correction of heart rhythm impairment.
