METHOD OF PREDICTING SEVERITY OF BRONCHIAL ASTHMA COURSE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B10/00

Abstract RU 2486870 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to clinical allergology and immunology, and can be used for predicting severity of bronchial asthma course in children. For this purpose risk factors are detected: persisting allergic rhinitis, allergy to home dust mites and plant pollen, level of immunoglobulin E, pathology from the side of central nervous system in child. From the anamnesis into account taken are: allergy pathology in mother, pneumonia in child in medical history, toxicosis of the II half of pregnancy in mother. Detected risk factors are given numerical values, reflecting their prognostic importance. After that, prognostic coefficients F1 and F2 are calculated by two definite mathematical formulas. If F1 is higher than F2, high risk of severe course of disease is predicted. If F1 is lower than F2, low risk of severe course development is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to efficiently and timely begin preventive and therapeutic procedures in groups of children with high risk of severe course of said disease.
