FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a catalyst. Described is a method for electrochemical production of a Pt-NiO/C catalyst, involving preparation of a hydroxide solution of one alkali metal; adding a carbon support to the obtained solution while stirring; obtaining a suspension in which an electrochemical process is carried out; filtering, washing and drying the precipitate; wherein the electrochemical process of producing the Pt-NiO/C catalyst is carried out in two steps; the first step involves electrochemical production of nickel oxide, which is carried out using two nickel electrodes under the action of asymmetrical alternating pulsed current with frequency of 50 Hz with different ratio of current densities of the anodic and cathodic half-periods, in solutions of alkali metal hydroxides with concentration of 0.1-17 mol/l, at the same suspension temperature of 60-90°C; replacing the nickel electrodes with platinum electrodes; the second step involves electrochemical production of platinum nanoparticles in the suspension obtained at the first step, which is carried out using two platinum electrodes under the action of symmetrical alternating pulsed current with frequency of 50 Hz; the suspension is subjected to temperature control at 45-55°C, and the catalyst is dried at 90°C.
EFFECT: reducing power consumption and duration of the catalyst preparation method.
