FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: hydrogen is produced by putting metal shavings into a container with an electrolyte solution, wherein in order to increase the volume of hydrogen released, electric current is passed through the metal shavings and dissolution of the metal with the current is accelerated. The shavings are connected in parallel to 0.4 kV consumer supply lines, which reduces electrical resistance of the lines, thereby minimising electric power consumption through the shavings.
EFFECT: high cost effectiveness of the method.
