FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: electrolytic method of decontaminating metallic surfaces in sodium chloride solution lies in that, the cleaned surface is the cathode, and the anode is made from material not subject to electro-dissolution. The sodium chloride solution used has concentration of 40-70 g/l. The metallic wastes are treated for 20-30 minutes and the anode is made from graphite.
EFFECT: increased efficiency; safe and cheaper cleaning of radioactive wastes of non-corrosive steel.
