FIELD: copper metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to copper metallurgy and can be used for hydrometallurgical processing of copper-containing raw materials and industrial middlings, in which copper is in sulfide form. Method for electrochemical processing of copper matte includes anodic dissolution of granulated copper matte in sulfuric acid solution under the influence of direct current and copper deposition on the cathode. During the anodic dissolution process, the granular copper matte is stirred. At the same time, in addition to the direct current, an alternating current of industrial frequency is passed through the electrodes, and the ratio of the direct current to the alternating current is 3-4:1.
EFFECT: reduced specific power consumption by increasing the dissolution rate of anode granules.
