FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: electrode is a base made from titanium or alloys thereof with a titanium oxide coating formed by plasma-electrolytic oxidation, on which platinum nanoparticles and agglomerates thereof are deposited by thermal decomposition of chloroplatinic acid, wherein the amount of platinum is higher than 0.01 g/m2. The method involves forming a titanium oxide coating on the base made from titanium or alloys thereof by plasma-electrolytic oxidation, followed by depositing platinum nanoparticles and agglomerates thereof onto the formed porous titanium oxide surface by impregnating the porous titanium oxide surface with chloroplatinic acid, followed by thermal decomposition thereof.
EFFECT: low cost of making a metal oxide electrode and enabling use thereof for electroanalytical purposes.
