FIELD: electrodes production.
SUBSTANCE: inventions can be used to obtain electrodes for electrochemical industries, in particular, poorly soluble anodes for cathodic protection of pipelines, cathodes for the production of hydrogen and halogen-hydrogens in acids and their solutions, in the production of chlorine, in electroplating. The composite electrode contains a titanium base with a porous oxide coating obtained by microarc oxidation of titanium. On the surface and in the through pores of the said oxide coating there is a titanium hydride sublayer deposited by cathodic treatment. A layer of rhenium is deposited on the sublayer, located on the entire oxidized surface of the titanium base with filling of the through pores of the oxide coating. Said sublayer may further comprise a layer of electrically conductive metal applied thereto by electrochemical or chemical deposition.
EFFECT: obtaining a non-porous thin electrocatalytic coating having reliable electrical contact with the titanium base of the electrode, while providing the ability to accurately control the thickness of the layer of expensive rhenium.
