SUBSTANCE: melatonin MT-1 and MT-2 receptor expression is assessed in the cells of the gastric and/or duodenal mucosa to calculate the discriminant function by formula: D=1.127×MT1/MT2-4.005. If D>0, the developing complications are predicted, and D<0 shows the favourable clinical course of the disease.
EFFECT: method is high-specific and enables the more effective prediction.
