SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to medical diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of developing H. pylori-positive duodenal ulcer in unrelated Russian individuals, natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation. Venous blood is taken, DNA is isolated from peripheral venous blood, and polymorphic loci rs17576-rs3787268-rs2250889-rs17577 of the MMP-9 gene are analyzed. A high risk of developing H. pylori-positive duodenal ulcer is predicted by detecting the GACG haplotype of polymorphic loci rs17576-rs3787268-rs2250889-rs17577 of the MMP-9 gene.

EFFECT: method provides for obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing H. pylori-positive duodenal ulcer in individuals of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation, based on data on polymorphic loci rs17576-rs3787268-rs2250889-rs17577 of the MMP-9 gene.
