FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of powder wire with higher density of powder filler. Wire is made from U-shape metal band with filling it with powder, smoothed and pre-compacted at vibratory device. Shell closed tubular section with is made with seamed lock and reduced in twin three-roll die. First set of rolls makes three deep crimps to decrease section cross section to 20%. Note here that one of said crimps is located nearby said seamed lock. Second set of rolls shifted through 60 degrees in forming axis relative to said first roll gages said section and squeezes formed crimps to decrease section cross section to 25%.
EFFECT: higher density of filler, uniform distribution of filler in lengthwise and crosswise directions, higher quality of wire.
