FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of frictional carbon-carbon materials and articles from carbon fibrous mass in a mixture with powdered binder, particularly packing presses from which said materials and/or articles are formed. The packing press for producing frictional carbon-carbon composite materials and/or articles contains the following components, in wt %: long carbon fibres 10-30; short carbon fibres 1-30; needle coke 0.5-10 and binder - the balance. The length of the long carbon fibres is 30-60 mm and the length of the short fibres is 10-50% of the length of the long fibres. The binder used is sinter particles. The method of making the packing press involves feeding and mixing said components, wherein before feeding, needle coke particles are mixed with sinter particles.

EFFECT: invention increases heat conductivity and strength of articles in a direction parallel to the pressing axis.
