SUBSTANCE: in MIMO communication systems, an estimate of the received vector of QAM symbols is generated and a covariation matrix is calculated; an upper triangular matrix F ˜ is generated based on a covariation matrix of MMSE estimates via a procedure for layer-by-layer estimation of marginal probabilities; starting from the bottom layer, a list of K best vectors of candidate symbols is formed according to the criterion of the minimality of the modified Euclidean distance; the modified Euclidean distance for layer k is defined as the total distance, calculated for all preceding layers, plus the distance to the candidate symbol of the current layer.

EFFECT: high accuracy of receiving information.
