FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to therapy, and can be used for diagnostics of mineral density of foot bones in patients with diabetes mellitus. Dual-energy X-ray absoptiometry is performed in from 32 to 64 year old men, from 1/68 to 1/92 m tall, with weight from 76 to 108 kg. Mineral density of bones of anterior part of foot limited by Chopart's joint is determined and estimated. If values are lower than 0.628 g/cm2, mineral density of foot bones is considered to be reduced.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to detect impairment of mineralisation of studied area.
