METHOD OF EXERCISING SPATIAL FIXATION REFLEX OF PERSON BEING TESTED Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61H5/00

Abstract RU 2489131 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, more specifically to ophthalmology, to methods for exercising a spatial fixation reflex in a person being tested that is necessary for personnel involved in hazardous occupations, particularly pilots, drivers, train drivers, and sportsmen. Disturbed space perception is diagnosed to determine displaced visual field quadrants that is followed by the three-staged training. At the first stage, the person being tested puts his/her hands together and bends in front; at the second stage- he/she puts his/her hands on hips, at the thirds stage the person stretches his/her arms; at each stage the person being tested tries to move his/her hands so that to bring projections of the two laser spots together in one within the visual field quadrant of the diagnosed disturbance, and he/she shifts it for 5-7 seconds along the four visual field quadrants in turn, gradually moving away from a screen spaced at 1 m from the person being tested at first, at 2, 3, 4, and 5 metres with keeping a spot projection of the image. After the three stages are completed, the four visual field quadrants are displayed so that the person being tested could move the laser spot of two laser spots to form the images of geometrical circle, triangle and square clockwise and counter-clockwise respectively gradually moving away from the screen at 5 to 30 metres; the three stages are repeated. After the third stage is completed, reference diagnosing follows to state whether another exercising is required.

EFFECT: method enables developing binocular visual estimation ensured by a coordination connection of eye and hand.
