FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Synthesis of LiPF6 is carried out in saturated lithium fluoride solution (LiF) in hydrogen fluoride (HF), while passing a gaseous mixture through the solution, the gaseous mixture containing phosphorus pentafluoride(PF5) and hydrogen chloride (HCl), obtained by reacting PCl5 with hydrogen fluoride. PF5 in the solution is in excess with respect to the stoichiometric amount of LiF. LiPF6 is removed from the reaction system in form of a filtrate without recourse to evaporating HF. The method is realised in an apparatus which includes an apparatus for preparing lithium fluoride solution in HF, a LiPF6 synthesis reactor with a circulation loop and a selective condenser, an apparatus for filtering and separating LiPF6 from the solution and degasifier-collector for recirculating the mother solution.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain lithium hexafluorophosphate of high quality.
