FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and system for obtaining phosphorus pentafluoride (PF5) by means of continuous phosphorus fluorination. Method of obtaining phosphorus pentafluoride includes delivery of white phosphorus into reactor in form of liquid or in form of vapour, continuous delivery of regulated elementary fluorine flow into reactor in such a way that provides interaction of elementary fluorine with phosphorus with formation of in fact pure phosphorus pentafluoride, regulation of temperature in reactor and extraction of phosphorus pentafluoride from reactor. System (100) for obtaining phosphorus pentafluoride includes source of elementary fluorine, source of white fluorine (108), reactor (104), first input (112), connecting source of fluorine with reactor, second input (110), connecting source of fluorine with reactor, where system is adapted for supply of regulated flow of elementary fluorine source into reactor on continuous basis, and outlet connecting pipe (118), connected to reactor for passage of phosphorus pentafluoride into assembling aggregate.

EFFECT: simple and effective method and system for obtaining phosphorus pentafluoride by direct fluorination of liquid or gaseous phosphorus are claimed.
