FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: coke is loaded to a coke quenching chamber and cooled there using a circulating cooling agent. Then, coke is supplied from the quenching chamber to the batchwise coke unloading device containing in-series connected crossover chambers; at that, excess volume of the cooling agent is removed from upper part of the crossover chamber, to which coke is supplied from the coke quenching chamber.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing the amount of cooling agent emissions to atmosphere and decreasing impact loads on mechanisms owing to decreasing the cooling agent pressure in the batchwise coke unloading device.
