FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves loading to a blast furnace of solid fuel, iron-ore materials and fluxes. As solid fuel there used is coke obtained as a result of coking of carbon-containing charge containing the product obtained by means of slow coking at the temperature of up to 500°C of a mixture of heavy sulphurous oil refining residues and reactant - oxide of alkaline-earth metal or hydroxide of alkaline-earth metal. Quantity of the reactant in the mixture comprises 0.1 to 2% per each percent of sulphur content in heavy sulphurous oil refining residues. Quantity of fluxes supplied to the furnace is determined based on provision of basicity factor of slags, which is equal to 0.29-0.77.
EFFECT: effective reduction of sulphur content in cast-iron; reduction of fuel consumption.
