FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: linear speed of an aircraft is determined through projections of its vector to horizontal and vertical planes. At each k time moment there used is data that is supplied from a television system included in an optic electronic system and from a thermal direction finder included in the optic electronic system. Besides, current values of yawing angles of the aircraft and pitching angles of the aircraft are used at k and (k-1) time moments respectively. Angular speed of the change of the aircraft yawing angle ωψk and angular speed of the change of the aircraft pitching angle ωϑk at k time moment is determined.

EFFECT: improving measurement accuracy of linear speed of an aircraft using non-radar information.
