FIELD: the method provides for determination of the range to the sources of radio emission and the rate of closure to them in radar systems by the measured values of angular co-ordinates of the sources of radio emission.

SUBSTANCE: the process of determination of the range and the rate of closure is divided into two stages. In the preliminary stage the approximate values of the range to the source of radio emission () and the rate of closure to the source of radio emission () are computer by the measured values of pitch, angle of jaw, altitude of the flight vehicle, lateral accelerations of the flight vehicle (), bearings and angular velocities of the sighting line of the source of radio emission in the horizontal and vertical planes. Dispersions of measurement errors of and are memorized. According to the computer values of and , the values of variables determining the degree of coupling of various co-ordinates and parameters of mutual movement of the flight vehicle and the source of radio emission are computed and memorized. The apriori and a posteriori dispersions of distribution of and are memorized. The values of and are measured in the main stage. The current values of dispersions of distribution of and ; the gains of the errors of prediction of and are computer and memorized; the current values of variables are estimated, and the current values of components of fundamental matrix are computed and memorized according to them. and are computed according to the obtained values of components of the matrix. Prediction of the values of and for the next step of measurements is made. Then, the process described above, beginning from the second stage, is repeated.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of co-ordinates.
