FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method of making a gas-filled discharger involves making a metal housing in form of a hollow cylinder and an assembly of a metal-ceramic unit which includes an insulator in form of a hollow flattened cone, the larger base of which is connected to a sealing ring by an encircling joint, and on the smaller base there is a screen with an electrode, the lead of which passes in the insulator, placing the metal-ceramic unit into the housing and connecting the housing to the sealing ring through external edges thereof, for example, by argon arc welding. When making the metal-ceramic unit, assembling the insulator with the sealing ring, electrode lead, screen and the electrode is carried out while placing a first solder at points of their connection, melting the first solder; after placing the metal-ceramic unit into the housing, conductors are mounted on the screen; a transverse wall with a second electrode, through the holes of which conductors pass, which divides the volume of the housing into a top and a bottom part is placed in the housing, and a make-break contact is placed on the conductors while placing at connection points thereof a second solder having melting point not higher than that of the first solder; the second solder is melted, after which the housing is connected to the sealing ring through external edges thereof; the top part of the volume of the housing is fitted with, while connecting with the make-break contact, a second metal-ceramic unit which is made by connecting, through an encircling joint, with the larger base of the insulator which is in form of a hollow flattened cone; placing a second electrode lead inside the insulator, and a screen on the smaller base of the insulator, while placing at connection points thereof the first solder and then melting said solder, connecting external edges of the sealing ring and an adapter ring and then after installing the second metal-ceramic unit in the top part of the volume, external edges of the housing the adapter ring are connected.

EFFECT: high reliability of air-tightness of a gas-filled discharger.
