FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used continuous casting. Proposed barrel 410 comprises inlet channel 106 at its first upstream end and, at least, one outlet channel. Inner surface 117 between said inlet channel 106 and outlet channel 210 defines opening 118 of barrel 410. Opening 118 has neck section 200 adjoining inlet channel 106 and convex flexed surface. Annular channel 420 is arranged at Barrel inner surface 117. Said annular channel 420 is arranged inside or adjacent to neck section 200. Fluid is fed into opening 118 via annular channel 420 or downstream thereof into dead zone for said fluid to spread forward over barrel to make barrier between metal flow and barrel. Molten metal flow control system comprises barrel 410 and retainer rod 100 controlling molten metal flow via barrel 410.
EFFECT: ruled out formation of aluminium oxide on barrel inner surface.
