FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: plate chain consists of plates, rollers and grooved inserts installed without any possibility of being rotated in holes of internal and external plates. Middle part of outer surface of each insert, which is located between internal plates, is open for contact with teeth of sprockets and made in that section in the form of flat or convex faces. End faces of ends of inserts protrude beyond outer surfaces of external plates. Position of inserts in a hinge is fixed with a roller freely installed in axial and radial directions between their inner surfaces.

EFFECT: low-noise transmission and higher durability of a chain.
