FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: pixalised optical element contains the first set of pixels for transformation of emitted light component of the first colour into the second colour, the second set of pixels for transformation of emitted light component of the first colour into the third colour and the third set of pixels which are non-transforming for transmission of emitted light component. The device contains additionally an addressable pixalised optical gate installed in front of pixalised optical element for modulation of light received from the pixalised optical element and in result it outputs light from device, at that the outputted light includes light of three colours which is modulated by the addressable pixalised optical gate. The modular lighting unit is differentiated by the fact that light modulation contains successive transmission of light of the first, second and third colour respectively.

EFFECT: reducing quantity of optical components.
