FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to projection systems and methods. Result is achieved by the fact that the projection system comprises a light source configured to emit light in response to image data, an optical system configured to project light emitted by the light source. Calibration method implemented by said system includes the following steps: receiving an input associated with a plurality of light values corresponding to the plurality of primary light fields; conversion of an input associated with a plurality of light values, into a plurality of values of the primary colours of the projector; determining a gain map based on a plurality of values of the primary colours of the projector; applying a gain map to an image in order to correct chromaticity uniformity by adjusting the levels of a plurality of primary light fields such that the primary mixture is identical in the frame with the image, and projecting the image using the optical system in the frame with the image, wherein the second image is corrected by the gain map.

EFFECT: correction of displayed image uniformity errors.
