FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: rocket engine consists of propellant layers arranged across charge axis and furnished with initiation system to detonate substance layers in turns. Propellant thin layers are made of tough substance. Note here that propellant layers are made of high-detonation capacity substance. Thickness of said layers exceeds notably its detonation critical thickness and alternates with other layers of lower detonation capacity of thickness notably smaller than critical one but sufficient for transfer of detonation from previous layer with high detonation capacity to the next layer of high detonation capacity. Initiation system is composed of a set of columns of substance of high detonation capacity. Every column connects two adjacent layers of high detonation capacity and penetrates through layer of low detonation capacity. Every two serial columns are located at layer periphery in opposition and shifted in circle through angle ϕ = 360 ° n where n is the number of layer pairs in the charge. Engine two-layer housing has inner layer made of porous material.

EFFECT: serviceable rocket engine burning explosive composition.
