FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: proposed damper is composed of arch-like chain of articulated sections. Said sections feature wedge-like shape and are made of stiff material to adjoin each other in initial state. Sections are attached to each other to pivot about pins to make wedge-like gaps. Every section has recesses that make lengthwise grooves on damper outer surface to receive resiliently expandable links of extreme sections. Orthopedic device comprises support plate for foot, yoke to be splitted in two halves to grip the lower leg under knee joint, arch-like flexible dampers under flexure to connect support plate with yoke, collar elastically connected with elastic elements to grip the lower leg around ankle. Damping device comprises support for weight with edges secured to damper ends to make closed line of attachment points. Damper opposite ends thrust upon support surface to make a closed line of contact points on support surface.
EFFECT: directed flexure of damper resilient arc.
