FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed protection means consists of armored turret fitted on wheel pair so that wheel pair vertical turn axis id aligned with that of protected means-armored turret system. Armored turret consists of two identical halves provided with couple-uncouple mechanism including, for example, grommets, springs or blast-type appliances. The latter will be activated on receiving appropriate control pulse. Halves joint line is inscribed in vertical plane running across lengthwise axis of symmetry of vertical projection of aforesaid vehicle-armored turret system. Protection means comprises periscope device extending, via appropriate bore in turret, beyond the latter and armored turret top, and equipped with either optical or TV visual observation system for commander, gunner and tank driver. Said protection means comprises supports coupled with tank by armored turret inner surface. Said supports serve to transfer a portion of weight load onto protected vehicle and to transmit motion pulse from vehicle to armored turret. In case tank or self-propelled artillery piece is used as protected vehicle, armored turret front is provided with bore to accommodate gun barrel aligned with optical or TV observation device. Gun barrel is equipped with shade mask secured to or made integral with gun barrel. Armored turret half joint edges are provided with locking-uncoupling appliances that receive appropriate control pulse for uncoupling device.

EFFECT: additional armored protection for caterpillar combat vehicles.
